1. Hera Pheri

Priyadarshan’s film will go down in history as one of the funniest Bollywood movies ever made. The trio of Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty—with great support from Gulshan Grover and Tabu—made Hera Pheri a thoroughly funny ride. This is a story of three unemployed men who are devoid of money and hence facing a lot of problems. One day, they receive a call from a kidnapper and they find a solution to get a handsome sum of money. But things do not go according to their plan.


2. Garam Masala

This film is directed by Priyadarshan featuring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Rimi Sen, Neha Dhupia, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. It was released on Diwali of 2005. Akshay Kumar received the Best Actor in a Comic Role award for his performance at the Filmfare Awards. It is a remake of Priyadarshan's own Malayalam movie Boeing Boeing.

3. Phir Hera Pheri

It is the sequel to the 2000 film Hera Pheri directed by Neeraj Vora. The film stars the three men from the previous film Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal. Bipasha Basu and Rimi Sen are the new additions in the film. The central plot is inspired from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

4. Bhool Bhulaiya

It is an Indian psychological thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. It is an official remake of the 1993 Malayalam film, Manichitrathazhu, starring Mohanlal and Shobana, which was already remade into several languages. Bhool Bhulaiyaa features Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Ameesha Patel and Shiney Ahuja in pivotal roles.

5. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi

This film is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film stars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. Kumar plays Sunny, a man who is out to ruin his roommate Sameer (Salman Khan) and try to steal the girl he loves, Rani (Priyanka Chopra). Through a series of mishaps and incredibly funny scenes, we learn the truth behind Sunny’s motives.

UK clearance comes through

While Jana Nayagan remains embroiled in a certification dispute in India, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has cleared Vijay’s final film for release in the UK. The BBFC classified the film as suitable for audiences aged 15 and above on January 6, a day before the Madras High Court resumed hearings on the stalled CBFC process.

The clearance comes as producers await a decision in India ahead of the film’s planned January 9 release.
