Bagbazar - Traditional Idol

Near the Bagbazar Launch Ghat and Bagbazar Kolkata Circular Railway Station, takes place one of the biggest Durga Puja pandal. It is one of the oldest pandal in Kolkata and attracts much attention due to its striking idol of Goddess Durga. There are usually stalls and carnival rides around the pandal for everyone to enjoy.


Kumartuli Park - Traditional and Modern Fusion Art

The pandal in Kumartuli Park is quite young as it was formed in 1995. However, it became quite popular because of the Durga idols which are handcrafted by professional clay modellers. The theme is always outside the box which features fusion art. This pandal is also in the north side of Kolkata, before Bahbazar along the river at Kumartuli Park.

College Square - Picturesque Lakeside Setting

College Square in central Kolkata, near Kolkata University has picturesque setting for the pandal. As it’s near a lake, it lights up the whole area and gives a nice for the festival.

Badamtala Ashar Sangha - Theme-Based Puja

In South Kolkata, Nepal Bhattacharjee Street, takes place the Badamtala Ashar Sangha pandal. It won an award for creative excellence in 2010. This year’s theme is shob choritro kalponic (all characters are fictional). It is dedicated to feminism and women’s empowerment. This year there was no weapons to portray non-violence.

Ekdalia Evergreen - Temple Replicas

The Ekdalia Evergreen began in 1943 and became known for their exceptional replicas of temples from all over India. this pandal has one of the tallest Durga idols in the Kolkata. Ekdalia Evergreen pandal is situated in Gariahat, South Kolkata.
