Movies that were supposed to release in May, but won’t hit the screens due to lockdown

Amidst the lockdown, one thing that everyone is missing is watching movies on the big screen. A lot of Bollywood films were slated to release in March and April but they were postponed due to the lockdown. Even May was filled with many interesting films, which unfortunately won’t release as the lockdown as been extended.

So, today, let’s look at the list of Bollywood films that were supposed to release this month, but we have to wait a few more months to watch them…

The first big release in May was supposed to be Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No. 1. Directed by David Dhawan, it was one of the most awaited films of the year and it was expected to do wonders at the box office.

One of the most interesting films we were looking forward to was the Hindi remake of The Girl on The Train. Starring Parineeti Chopra, Kirti Kulhari, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Avinash Tiwari, the film was slated to release on 8^th May 2020.

Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi was also slated to release on 8^th May 2020. The film is a biopic on the mathematician Shakuntala Devi and the first look had impressed us a lot. We are sure it will be interesting to watch Vidya doing some calculations on the big screen.

Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to have not one or two, but four releases this year. In April, Gulabo Sitabo was slated to hit the screens, and in May it was supposed to be Jhund. The Nagraj Manjule directorial was supposed to release last year but was postponed to 2020.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Dil Bechara was also slated to release in 2019, but the film has been pushed multiple times. Finally, the makers had decided to release it on 8^th May, but well, once again it will get delayed.

This Eid will be without Salman Khan. Since 2009 (except 2013), fans of Salman Khan were in for a treat as every year on Eid, the actor used to have a release. But, this year, his movie Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai won’t release on Eid due to the lockdown.

This Eid was supposed to be the clash of the titans. Salman Khan was going to clash with Akshay Kumar at the box office. Akshay’s Laxmmi Bomb was also slated to release on Eid this year. Recently, there were reports that the makers are planning to release the movie on an OTT platform, but nothing has been officially announced yet.
