The first look of Dev Patel from his upcoming film Rabbit Trap is out. The film also stars Rosy McEwen in the lead role.
Set in 1973, the film follows a married couple who are both musicians, Daphne and Darcy Davenport.
The duo has decided to move from London to a cabin in the middle of nowhere in Wales, as they want the peace and quiet to finish their new album.
During their recordings, they accidentally capture a strange sound that’s never been heard by human ears before. That’s when a strange child turns up, and they start to film their world colliding with the supernatural.
The project has wrapped up production in Wales, with E Bryn Chainey serving as the writer and director of the film.
Rabbit Trap is produced by Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah’s SpectreVision, Lawrence Inglee, Elisa Lleras, Alex Ashworth, and Sean Marley of Mad As Birds.
Wood said in a statement: “Bryn [Chainey]’s vision for Rabbit Trap artfully fuses the world of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop with authentic Celtic Faerie lore to create a mythical marriage story that unfolds in a sonic landscape. It’s an utterly unique vision from an important new voice in cinema that we’re privileged to be a part of.”
Dev Patel, Wiser Film’s Benjamin Kramer, Carte Blanche’s Kyle Stroud, Tom Ogden, Bankside Films’ Stephen Kelliher, and Sophie Green will executive produce.
Meanwhile, Patel will also be seen in the action film Monkey Man, which also marks his directorial debut.
