ACTOR NTR Jr’s latest film Devara Part 1, following the massive success of RRR, has generated significant buzz by securing approximately £2.8 million in global pre-sales, the film’s producers told Variety.

The film is produced by Kosaraju Hari Krishna and Sudhakar Mikkilineni under the NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts banners, with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram presenting it.

A premiere event at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre sold out all 516 seats in just nine minutes, underscoring the excitement surrounding the release.

Notably, Devara has already raked in £2m in the US alone, ahead of its Friday (27) release. In Australia, pre-sales reached nearly £170,000, while the UK saw 24,000 tickets snapped up for the first day.

This action-packed film, set along India’s coastal lands, reunites NTR Jr with director Koratala Siva, known for their prior collaboration on Janatha Garage. The actor takes on the role of Devara, a heroic figure fighting treachery to protect his people.

The cast also includes Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in key roles, along with Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko, and Narain.

Industry expert Taran Adarsh praised the film’s international appeal, stating that NTR Jr is reshaping global perceptions of Indian cinema, breaking barriers, and setting new standards in the global box office arena.

The movie features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, production design by Sabu Cyril, and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.

It will be released in two parts and in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Distributors across the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands are gearing up for one of the largest releases for an Indian film, with a total of 1,168 screens, according to the Variety report.
