The makers of Housefull 4 have signed on writer-director Farhad Samji to direct the movie after Sajid Khan, the original director of the movie, had to quit the project following sexual harassment allegations by three women. Sajid announced his exit from the high-profile venture on Friday.

The movie, which is the next instalment of the immensely successful Bollywood film franchise Housefull (2010), is being produced by renowned filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

In a statement, a spokesperson of the banner said, “Director of Housefull 3, Farhad Samji, will now direct Housefull 4. Farhad Samji had co-directed the third instalment of the series along with his brother Sajid Samji.

Housefull 4 is headlined by Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda and Kriti Sanon. Earlier, veteran actor Nana Patekar was also a part of the hotly anticipated comic-caper, but he too had to walk out of it after actress Tanushree Dutta accused him of sexual harassment.
