Ajay Devgn ropes in Boman Irani for his directorial Mayday

Ajay Devgn ropes in Boman Irani for his directorial Mayday

By: Mohnish Singh

Bollywood actor Boman Irani, who is known for his unforgettable performances in such blockbusters as Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), and 3 Idiots (2009), has joined the cast of Mayday.

The forthcoming film, which has just kick-started its first shooting schedule, is being directed by superstar Ajay Devgn who returns to direction after his 2016 hit Shivaay. Apart from calling the shots, he also plays an important role alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh.

Bachchan, having won his battle against Coronavirus, began shooting for Mayday on Thursday. The legendary actor expressed some concern about shooting during these tough times of the pandemic.

“Dear Lord. These first days on new films are always such a nightmare. Petrified and in constant apprehension. Wondering what shall happen and if it happens will it be acceptable and passed. Want to run away and hide,” he wrote on Instagram.

Mayday reunites Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh after De De Pyaar De (2019). Also starring Tabu, De De Pyaar De was one of the most successful films of 2019, where critics and audiences equally loved the crackling chemistry between Devgn and Singh. The audience is looking forward to their cinematic reunion with loads of hope.

Apart from Mayday, Boman Irani will also be seen in the Kannada film Yuvarathnaa and Kabir Khan’s much-awaited ’83. Starring Ranveer Singh as legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev, the sports-drama chronicles the Indian cricket team’s unprecedented win against West Indies in the 1983 World Cup tournament.

‘83 was originally scheduled to hit the marquee in April 2020. However, the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus pandemic led the makers to stall its release. A new release date is expected to be announced soon.

Mayday is set to release on 29th April, 2022.

Nick Jonas says it's 'scary' to imagine daughter Malti in showbiz after what he and Priyanka faced

Nick Jonas is no stranger to fame. From performing on Broadway as a child to becoming one-third of the Jonas Brothers, he’s spent most of his life under the spotlight. His wife, Priyanka Chopra, entered the world of glamour as a teenager, winning Miss World at 18 before making it big in Bollywood and then Hollywood. So, it’s only natural that people are curious whether their daughter, Malti Marie, might follow in their footsteps.

During a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Nick opened up about the possibility. When asked whether he’d be okay with his daughter getting into the entertainment industry at a young age, he paused before saying it’s a decision she’ll have to make herself. While three-year-old Malti already enjoys singing, Nick admitted that the idea of her stepping into such a demanding field so early is unsettling.

Akshay Kumar tells King Charles to watch Kesari 2: “You’ll know why the British should say sorry”

Akshay Kumar isn’t asking for an apology. He just wants the British to look back and really see what happened. With his upcoming film Kesari Chapter 2 hitting screens on April 18, the actor is urging both the UK government and King Charles to watch the film and confront a dark chapter in colonial history.

The film, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and based on The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu and Pushpa Palat, tells the story of C. Sankaran Nair, a Malayali lawyer who took legal action against General Dyer and the British government after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. The massacre when British troops opened fire on a peaceful crowd remains one of the most horrific events of British rule in India.
