Alia Bhatt in talks to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Luv Ranjan’s next

Alia Bhatt, who is riding high on the massive success of her recent release Raazi, has been approached to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in filmmaker Luv Ranjan’s next directorial venture. Ranjan’s next features Ranbir and Ajay Devgn in lead roles.

An Indian newspaper reports that after finalizing Ranbir and Ajay a couple of months ago, Luv Ranjan is in talks with Alia Bhatt to play the female lead in his movie. Talks are at the very initial stage.

“Most film scripts are written with certain stars in mind. Having said that, directors also have a vision of who they want to cast. Today, Alia is a big star. If you want to cast her, you need to sign her around the same time as the male stars. If the role is not that important, it is highly unlikely that Alia will sign on the dotted line, even if it means losing out on quality time with beau Ranbir,” a source reveals.

Meanwhile, Ranbir and Alia, who are the latest couple in B-town, are shooting for Dharma Productions’ fantasy film Brahmastra, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in significant roles. The film is being directed by Ayan Mukerji.

How prosecutors said spiritual authority was weaponised

Nathan Chasing Horse, best known for playing Smiles a Lot in Dances With Wolves, was sentenced by a Nevada judge on Monday after a jury convicted him on 13 charges, most linked to sexual assault. He was accused by three women, including one who said the abuse began when she was 14. He was acquitted on some charges.

Prosecutors argued that Chasing Horse used influence built through both his acting career and his standing as a Lakota medicine man to target Indigenous women and girls over nearly two decades.
