Amir Khan has not spoken to his parents for six months, and they blame his wife

PROFESSIONAL boxer Amir Khan has not spoken to his parents for six months and they blame his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, for the falling out.

Amir's father Shah Khan has accused Faryal and her mother for trying to control his life and create a wedge between him and his family.

Speaking to MailOnline, Shah said: "Amir's wife and mother-in-law have teamed up, 100 per cent. They're in his head, both of them. They want to control everything about Amir. They're running the show. They want to run everything in his life. We said fine, carry on with it. We've taken a step back.

"But I don't know why he stopped talking to us. I have no idea. They keep pumping his head with 'oh they've (Khan family) ripped you off. They say that I've robbed him. They've turned him against us."

Amir and Faryal married six years ago and they have two children together. They went through a rocky patch in 2017 after Amir accused Faryal of cheating with his boxing rival Anthony Joshua. He was also linked to other woman.

But the duo decided to give their marriage another go after finding out that Faryal was pregnant with their second child.

"We didn't go through with the divorce because it's banned in Islam when a girl is pregnant," he was quoted as saying. "I've learned my lesson. It was a wake-up call for us both and it will only make us stronger. I think we will be married forever."

Recent media reports suggest that Amir and his were were hunting for a house in Berkshire as they wanted to get away from his family and "save his marriage."

This piece of news has irked Shah, forcing him to speak out.

"I'd like him (Amir) to tell me what's the family saying to you? The family has been doing its own thing for the past six months. We've not even spoken to the guy so what the hell is his problem. The family's not saying anything to him."

According to Shah, none of their relatives are in touch with Amir.

The dispute between father and son, according to Shah, has to do with money. Amir has earned an estimated £23 million through boxing.

"This is all about money and greed. I hear from people that Faryal said this, or her mother said that, stuff about me being nothing and that Amir made me or that I've been cheating him.

"Money breaks up families and sadly, this is happening to us."
