Anand Parmar: Three accused deny murder charges

THE THREE men who were charged with the murder of Anand Parmar, who was found dying in a car by police, have pleaded not guilty to murder at Leicester Crown Court.

Jeffery Carew, 22, of Marsh Close in Leicester, Renaldo Baptiste, 34, and Jurrat Khan, 25, both of no fixed abode, have denied murdering the man, BBC reported. The three will face trial on Nov. 29 in the same court.

The three were arrested last month in relation to the death of Indian-origin Parmar who was found with serious injuries inside a Vauxhall Astra in Brighton Road in Leicester during the early hours of April 12 after police stopped it for driving erratically.

Parmar, 47, who was rushed to the Queen's Medical Centre, died later in the hospital. His post-mortem examination found he died as a result of "significant injuries" to his head and chest.

A number of other people, including two women, were also arrested in connection with the incident. All have since been released on bail.

Following Parmar’s death, his family paid an emotional tribute in a statement released through police, describing their shock at learning of his death and said they were struggling to come to terms with their loss.
