Ananya Panday calls her first shot for SOTY 2 a washout

There is no doubt that the first film of every actor’s career is very close to his heart, and the first shot even more special. But actress Ananya Panday, who entered filmdom with Dharma Productions’ Student of the Year 2 (2019), says that her first shot for the college-caper ended up being a washout.

Talking to a publication, the newcomer reveals that she was dismayed when rain threatened to cancel her entry shot in SOTY 2, because her co-stars Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria had already shot theirs.

“Our first shot was supposed to be for the song Jatt Ludhiyane Da. Punit (Malhotra, director) had individually promised the three of us that all our first shots will be solo so that each one of us gets to savour it,” says Panday.

She goes on to add, “Tiger’s was a dance step, while Tara got a beauty shot. When it was my turn, it started raining. I got upset thinking I would not get to shoot, and that my first day was ruined. Everybody got to do their scene except me. Luckily, Punit changed mine to an indoor shot so everything worked out.”

After SOTY 2, Ananya Panday starred in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) alongside Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. The film, produced by T-Series Films and B. R. Studios, turned out to be a big success at the box-office.

She then signed on to play the female lead in Maqbool Khan’s Khaali Peeli with Ishaan Khatter. With the upcoming action entertainer, acclaimed filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar is venturing into film production.

Her next project is with Shakun Batra for Dharma Productions. The untitled film also features Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi in principal roles.
