Ananya Panday signed on to romance Kartik Aaryan in Pati Patni Aur Woh remake

Ananya Panday, the daughter of seasoned Bollywood actor Chunky Panday, is yet to make her silver screen debut with Karan Johar’s much-anticipated college romance drama Student of The Year 2, but the newcomer has already started arresting other filmmakers’ attention, it seems.

According to reports, Ananya has been signed on for her second Bollywood project opposite none other than Kartik Aaryan who delivered one of the biggest blockbusters of 2018 – Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.

The project in question is the official remake of the Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur starrer 1978 film Pati Patni Aur Woh. While Aaryan essays the role originally played by veteran actor Sanjeev Kumar, Ananya has been cast to step into the shoes of Ranjeeta Kaur.

“Ananya has been signed on for the Pati Patni Aur Woh remake, which is being produced by Juno Chopra. She will essay the role that was portrayed by Ranjeeta Kaur in the original. The idea is to make it a modern version of the classic with a young cast. The makers wanted someone cute as well as glamorous for the part and she fit the bill. When the script was narrated to her, she was in splits and gave bulk dates, almost immediately,” a well-placed source reveals.

Since Pati Patni Aur Woh is a two-heroine project, the makers will soon sign another actress for the parallel part. We hear that a leading lady is expected to join the cast to play the role originally played by Vidya Sinha.

An official announcement is expected to be made soon.
