Anupam Kher to release autobiography Lessons Life Taught Me Unknowingly on 5th August

Seasoned Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film One Day: Justice Delivered, will soon release his much-awaited autobiography. Titled Lessons Life Taught Me Unknowingly, the book will hit the shelves across the world on 5th August, 2019.

Talking about the book, Anupam Kher says that he did not let anyone else write his biography because he wanted to share his truth with people his way. "I can only share my truth with people. The interpretation of another individual can be judgmental."


The veteran actor goes on to add, "That is why it is my autobiography that I have written to share the truth of my life the way I want people to know. Of course, someone can do research on me and write a book. That would be an unauthorised biography in which I have no control over.”

Anupam Kher, an alumnus of the National School of Drama, began his acting career with Mahesh Bhatt’s Saaransh (1984). He won Filmfare Award for Best Actor trophy for his performance in the film. He proved his versatility by appearing in a diverse range of films including Ram Lakhan (1989), Daddy (1989) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), to name just a few.

Apart from acting in films, Kher has also hosted a couple of shows on Indian television. In 2002, he made his directorial debut with multi-starrer Om Jai Jagdish. Starring Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Waheeda Rehman, Urmila Matondkar and Mahima Chaudhary, the film tanked at the box-office and since then Kher has never tried going behind the camera. In his three-decade-long career, Anupam Kher has done over 500 films and won several national and international awards.
