Anushka Sharma works from home amid quarantine

Her videos on social media may give you an impression that Anushka Sharma is spending most of her time chilling with husband Virat Kohli amid the lockdown, but there is more to the situation than meets the eye. According to reports, the actress-turned-filmmaker is busy planning a series of projects for her production house, Clean Slate Films.

Apart from preparing for her next film Chakdaha Express, which is expected to start rolling after the lockdown is lifted, Anushka Sharma is also devoting her time to several digital projects which she will be producing for streaming media giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

One of her upcoming digital productions is based on Tarun Tejpal’s book The Story Of My Assassins (2009), titled Pataal Lok. Starring Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi and Jaideep Ahlawat in crucial roles, the series is slated for its premiere on 15th May on Amazon Prime Video. The streamer today revealed the logo and announced the launch date of the upcoming show.

Apart from Pataal Lok, Anushka Sharma is working on a number of other exciting projects. “In addition to this, Anushka is also producing Mai which has Sakshi Tanwar in the lead and is directed by Atul Mongia. All her shows have women as protagonists including the Jhulan Goswami biopic in which she plays the lead role. Her other films like Pari (2018), Phillauri (2017) and NH10 (2015) have also had strong female protagonists, so Anushka is surely keeping her priorities right and herself busy,” a source in the know informs a publication.

Anushka Sharma was last seen in the Aanand L Rai directorial Zero (2018) alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Over the past one year, the actress has not done any film. Her next is titled Chakdaha Express. The project is yet to be announced though.
