Arshad Warsi drops interesting details on Munna Bhai 3 shoot

Arshad Warsi has acted in many successful films in his two-decade-long career, but the kind of name and fame Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) brought him is absolutely nonpareil.

Though the super successful franchise starred superstar Sanjay Dutt in the title role of Munna Bhai, Warsi’s adoringly goofy character of Circuit left an indelible impression on viewers’ mind.

There have been a lot of rumours about the third instalment of the popular film series over the years, but the makers are yet to confirm anything officially except that the movie is indeed in the works.

However, when in one of his recent interview Arshad Warsi was asked about the status of the much-awaited film, he said that Munna Bhai 3 will mount the shooting floors at the end of 2019.

“Hirani told me he is working on Munna Bhai 3. We all know that he is particular about his films and takes his own time to write them. He doesn’t rush into anything, so let’s wait for an official announcement. We plan to begin (working on it) towards the end of next year,” said the actor.

Just like the previous instalments of the series, Munna Bhai 3 will also be helmed by celebrated filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who most recently directed blockbuster Sanju (2018).

What Britain’s ban on strangulation porn really means and why campaigners say it could backfire

Highlights:

  • Government to criminalise porn that shows strangulation or suffocation during sex.
  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

You see it everywhere now. In mainstream pornography, a man’s hands around a woman’s neck. It has become so common that for many, especially the young, it just seems like part of sex, a normal step. The UK government has decided it should not be, and soon, it will be a crime.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
