Bhagyashree excited about her next

Actress Bhagyashree, who is mostly remembered for romancing superstar Salman Khan in the Sooraj Barjatya-directed blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), stayed away from the limelight for several years. However, the actress has now started working more actively in films.

Last seen in Kannada film 2 States (2019), Bhagyashree is presently working with superstar Prabhas in the much-awaited multilingual film, tentatively titled Jaan. The actress recently caught up with the media and spoke about the upcoming movie in detail.

“I have been reading scripts and have in fact started working as well. Well, one of the films is with Prabhas. The film’s name has not been announced. Just before lockdown, I had started shooting for it. It is a very interesting character where I had to learn a different skill set for it,” said the actress.

Bhagyashree, who shot to overnight fame after the humongous success of her debut film Maine Pyar Kiya, decided against continuing her acting career after getting married with actor and businessman Himalaya Dasani.

Talking about her decision of quitting acting so early in her career, the actress said, “It was a tough call because by then I had realised that I do enjoy acting and I was like I wish I had the possibility of managing both. But no, because he just took over my life. My entire focus and happiness were having him with me. At that point, it was not a tough choice. All that I wanted to do was spend time with him.”

Bhagyashree has two children. Her son Abhimanyu Dassani is also an actor. He made his acting debut last year with filmmaker Vasan Bala’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019) alongside Radhika Madan. The young actor won the prestigious Filmfare award in the Best Debutant category for his powerful performance in the film.
