Bhumi Pednekar adds six brands to her kitty during pandemic

By: Mohnish Singh

Most recently seen in Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare (2020), Bhumi Pednekar is not only creating ripples in Bollywood but also in the world of advertising. By delivering back-to-back hits and fearlessly voicing her opinions on various topics of importance, she has strengthened her brand equity like no other actor from the current crop.

This is one of the reasons why brands are queueing up in front of her doors with lucrative deals. It is to note here that the actress has already signed six exciting brand deals during the Coronavirus pandemic.

A brand expert says, “Today, all brands are looking for endorsers with substance. The pandemic has changed the dynamics forever and all brands want to be sure that the celebrity endorser should have a voice of his/her own and stand for values and ethics. There is a reason why someone like Bhumi Pednekar’s equity has shot through the roof because she stands for progressive cinema, aims at representing the free-thinking modern Indian woman correctly on the screen and also raises her voice for future generations with her climate change initiative.”

Ever since making her silver screen debut with Yash Raj Films’ much-loved romantic comedy-drama Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), Bhumi Pednekar has chosen characters that are not only well-written but also have a voice of their own. From playing a sportswoman in Saand Ki Aankh (2019) to portraying a progressive housewife in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), the actress has proved her mettle time and again.

On the work front, Pednekar next stars in an upcoming horror thriller titled Durgavati. Helmed by G. Ashok, the film is a remake of superhit Telugu and Tamil offering Bhaagamathie, starring Anushka Shetty in the lead role. Earlier scheduled to release on 11th December, Durgavati is now expected to hit screens in the first half of 2021.
