Bhumi Pednekar to romance Sushant Singh Rajput in a film on Chambal dacoits!

A couple of months ago, the tinsel town was buzzing with the news of a possible collaboration between filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey and actor Sushant Singh Rajput. If the latest reports are to be believed, Rajput is indeed part of the project.

To be produced under the banner of Ronnie Screwvala, the film is said to be loosely based on the Chambal dacoits wherein Sushant Singh Rajput will be seen in the role of a dacoit.


A source close to the development says, "Sushant is playing a dacoit. The film will be shot in the Chambal ravines and will roll by the year-end. Prep has begun and the team is excited."

There are also reports that actress Bhumi Pednekar, who is currently basking in the success of her two hit films, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Savdhan, has been roped in to play the female lead in the movie.

"Bhumi begins work on the film in January. Abhishek Chaubey plans to shoot in real locations so he and his team are busy doing the recee right now," adds the source.

Sushant, who is currently shooting for Kedarnath with Sara Ali Khan, will begin shooting for the untitled film set in the 70s after wrapping up the first shooting schedule of the Abhishek Kapoor directorial.

"Sushant will complete Kedarnath’s first schedule and then move to the Chambal film in January," the source added.

Sushant currently has a number of good projects in his hands. Kedarnath, Drive and Chanda Mama Door Ke are some of the projects that have been officially announced. The actor also had an interesting project called RAW in his kitty, but he opted out of it recently.
