Bhushan Kumar & Dinesh Vijan to produce multiple films together

After the humongous success of Hindi Medium, a movie which has been winning a string of awards at various award functions in Bollywood, including the most coveted Filmfare Awards, acclaimed producers Bhushan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan have announced a multiple films deal. The first film which will be produced as part of the deal will be the Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon starrer Arjun Patiala.

Set in Punjab, Arjun Patiala will be a buddy cop film. In the movie, Kriti will be seen as a journalist while Diljit in the titular role is a quirky, small-town guy. Besides Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon, the movie also features Varun Sharma. It will be helmed by Rohit Jugraj.

Followed by Arjun Patiala, the makers will soon make an announcement on Hindi Medium 2, a sequel to Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium, along with a bunch of many more films together.

Speaking on the association, Bhushan Kumar says, "When two like-minded people join hands, it is an easy team to work with. When the people working on a project are passionate about their work and give their best, it’s an easy boat to sail and when the industry appreciates this association, it’s a cherry on the cake. Dinesh and his team are always conceptualizing unique content, making us want to work more and more together. Working on Hindi Medium together was a fruitful association. This has enabled us to want to work more and more together. Arjun Patiala is a film that will make you smile, laugh and crack up. Watch out for a cracking chemistry between both of them."

On winning Filmfare Award for Best Film and taking this association further, Dinesh Vijan adds, "It’s so encouraging to get this (Filmfare Award) because it reinforces our long-standing belief at Maddock Films that taking risks will finally pay off. With Hindi Medium, it’s great to see that after the dust settles, good content has emerged a winner. Bhushan and I share a productive partnership, especially when it comes to music, and we respect each other’s capabilities. But what excites me most is Maddock’s lineup for 2018. It’s very exciting, promising and an exhilarating mix of diverse films."
