Deepika Padukone started her career as a model. She later featured in a few music videos and it was in 2007 when she made her Bollywood debut with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. The actress has been in the industry for the past 13 years and has given some remarkable performances.

Today, as Deepika celebrates her 34th birthday, let’s look at the top performances of the actress…

Om Shanti Om

When the trailer and the songs of Om Shanti Om were released, everyone was praising Deepika's gorgeous looks and her dancing skills. But after watching the film, we came to know that Deepika is not just a pretty face but also a confident performer. She impressed one and all with her performance as Shanti in the film and stood equal to a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan in the film.

Love Aaj Kal

After Om Shanti Om, Deepika starred in a couple of films, but none of them did justice to her talent. It was Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal that once again made us realise that Deepika is a fantastic actress.

Cocktail

Post Love Aaj Kal, once again there was a downfall in Deepika’s career. But things changed after the 2012 release Cocktail. As Veronica, Deepika was simply outstanding and once again proved her mettle as an actress. It was Cocktail which became a turning point in her career and then there was no looking back for her.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

Deepika Padukone became Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Leela in the filmmaker’s directorial Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. The film was a blockbuster at the box office and moviegoers loved Deepika and Ranveer’s jodi. Well, as Leela Deepika was amazing and we can clearly call the film one of the best performances of her career.

Piku

In 2015, Deepika Padukone starred in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku. The film revolved around a father and a daughter and as Piku, Deepika nailed in the movie. She won numerous awards for her performance in the film.

Tamasha

While Deepika was winning awards for her performance in Piku, we feel that in 2015, it was her performance in Tamasha for which she deserved awards. It is clearly one of the most layered characters Deepika has played on the big screen.

Bajirao Mastani

Sanjay Leela Bhansali roped in Deepika Padukone to play Mastani on the big screen in the film Bajirao Mastani.
