Can Salman Khan really arrive with Kick 2 on Eid 2020?

Salman Khan’s reunion with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not happening for sure, as the much-talked-about Inshallah has gone into cold storage just weeks before hitting the shooting floor. In his tweet, Khan had announced that with Inshallah being put on the backburner he will return on Eid 2020 with another film.

Though nobody knows what this “another film” is, speculations are rife that the superstar was perhaps talking about Kick 2, a sequel to his much-loved 2014 action entertainer Kick, co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

According to reports, as soon as Inshallah was shelved, Salman Khan contacted filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala to ask if Kick 2 can be rush-released on Eid 2020. Nadiadwala, who shares a close relationship with the superstar and has worked with him on multiple successful films over the decades, is reportedly figuring out what he can do.

A source close to the development reveals that except Salman Khan, nothing is finalized about Kick 2 at the moment. In this case, is meeting the Eid 2020 deadline even possible? “Nothing about Kick 2 is finalized, except Salman of course. There is no script as yet. Nadiadwala is committed to getting the Kick sequel into theatres by the end of 2020. Let’s see if he can manage an Eid release.”

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is presently working on the third instalment of the Dabangg (2010) franchise. The film is in the last leg of its shoot. Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Kichcha Sudeep in important roles, Dabangg 3 is directed by Prabhudeva. The film is scheduled to hit the marquee on 20th December, 2019.

After Dabangg 3, Khan was expected to team up with brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri yet again for a remake of South Korean film Veteran (2014). But with no development at the moment, the project is unlikely to mount the shooting floor soon.
