Confirmed: Meera Syal to play Verin in The Wheel of Time 2

There is some exciting news for the fans of Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time. After two years of speculation, it has been finally confirmed that renowned actress Meera Syal is set to play Verin Mathwin in the second season of the popular fantasy show.

It is no secret that Syal was cast in The Wheel of Time Season 2 since late 2021, but there was no official word on who she might play.

The news about Syal joining the cast to play Verin was shared by Nerdist in a post that was retweeted by the official Twitter for The Wheel of Time.

Verin is first introduced in book two, The Great Hunt, so it makes sense the audience will see her in season two. For those not in the know, Verin is a member of the Brown Ajah of the Aes Sedai and an extremely important character in the story.

Sayal’s previous credits include Netflix's The Sandman, where she played Erica, an ally of Joanna Constantine and the original character based on Rick the Vic of DC Comics. The BAFTA winner was also seen in a special appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Doctor Strange.

As of right now, there is no official date for the premiere of The Wheel of Time Season 2, but we are expecting to land on Amazon Prime Video sometime this year.

Meghan Markle’s ‘As Ever’ faces backlash for stealing name of smaller company

Meghan Markle is once again in the middle of a branding controversy, this time over the name of her latest business venture. After shelving her previous brand, American Riviera Orchard, without selling a single product, she has now rebranded under the name "As Ever." The problem? A small New York-based clothing company has been using that name for years, and its supporters are not happy.

The founder of As Ever NYC, Mark Kolski, took to social media to clarify that his brand has no connection with Meghan’s. “We are aware. We are not affiliated,” he wrote, thanking customers for their concern. His brand, which started in 2015 by reworking vintage military clothing, became official in 2017 and has built a loyal following.
