Confirmed: Mental Hai Kya retitled as Judgementall Hai Kya

After an unending hue and cry surrounding the title of Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s forthcoming black-comedy thriller Mental Hai Kya, the makers of the much-awaited movie have finally changed its title. The title of the film has been tweaked to Judgemental Hai Kya. The theatrical trailer of the movie will be unveiled with its new title in a couple of days.

Talking to an Indian daily, a source says, “The session went on for almost five hours. The film was cleared by the CBFC with a U/A certificate after minor changes and almost no cuts. There will be a change in title as the CBFC thought that it was a bit too harsh. The makers were open to suggestions and were happy to cooperate, given the sensitivity of the term. The new title will be unveiled by the production house very soon, but we hear that it will most likely be renamed Judgementall Hai Kya.”

Also starring Amyra Dastur in an important role, the film has been produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. A spokesperson for the production house confirmed the development, “Given the sensitivity attached to the issue of mental health and our intention of not offending or hurting anyone’s sentiments, the makers have decided to change the title of the film Mental Hai Kya to Judgementall Hai Kya. Both Kangana and Rajkummar have outdone themselves in this thriller and we can’t wait for audiences to witness it on the big screen.”

Directed by National Film Award-winning director Prakash Kovelamudi, Judgementall Hai Kya is set to hit the marquee on 26th July. It will be clashing with Maddock Films’ upcoming comic-caper Arjun Patiala, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma in lead roles.
