Coronavirus outbreak: Shivangi Joshi reacts to Janta Curfew by PM Modi

With the coronavirus outbreak impacting day-to-day life of every individual across the world, people have been advised to stay indoors. As production of all films, television shows and webseries has been suspended in India, actors and technicians have been given temporary off till the situation returns to normalcy.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Janta curfew for March 22, requesting all Indian citizens across the length and breadth of the country to stay indoor from 7 am till 9 pm in an attempt to contain the spread of Coronavirus as taking precautions is the only cure available at present.

Several film and television celebrities have supported Prime Minister’s initiate. Popular television actress Shivangi Joshi, who plays the character of Naira on Star Plus’ long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai says that she supports the cause as it is a good step.

“I have always been a believer of society and government policies. The Janta curfew this Sunday, March 22, 2020, is a great well thought idea by our Honourable Prime Minister which has a logic behind it. We all, as responsible citizens, should be indoor for the entire day, and, yes, totally clap at 5 pm for all those who are risking their lives so that we can rest home peacefully. I support this cause and will continue to do so in future too,” says the actress.

She goes on to add that she is currently in Dehradun with her family. “I am spending quality time with my family as we hardly get any time to spend due to our hectic schedule,” the actress says in conclusion.
