Dabangg 4 on the anvil?

There is no denying the fact that Dabangg is one of the most successful franchises of Bollywood. After Wanted (2009), if there is any movie which has been credited to have given a big fillip to Salman Khan’s tumbling career and position him as one of the leading superstars of Hindi cinema, it has to be Dabangg which hit the marquee in 2010 and smashed a series of records at the box-office.

After the thunderous success of Dabangg, Salman Khan returned with Dabangg 2, the second instalment of the film, in the year 2012. As expected, the movie set the box-office on fire and even went on to eclipse the success of Dabangg. Salman Khan is now gearing up for the release of the third instalment of the franchise. Ahead of the release of Dabangg 3, the superstar has hinted at the possibility of a fourth instalment being in the pipeline.

During the song launch of ‘Munna Badnaam Hua’, the host said that Dabangg 3 has been in news for some quite time now, to which Salman Khan wittingly responded, “We stopped talking about Dabangg 3 much before we started shooting. We started talking about Dabangg 4.”

When asked if this was an official announcement of Dabangg 4, Khan said, “We have only recently announced Radhe, then there might be something else. Only after that, we will think about Dabangg 4.”

Also starring Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Sudeep Kichcha in lead roles, Dabangg 3 has been directed by Prabhudheva. The filmmaker is reuniting with Salman Khan after their 2009 mega-hit Wanted, which brought Khan back in the reckoning. Dabangg 3 is slated to buzz into theatres on 20th December, 2019.

In addition to promoting Dabangg 3, Salman Khan is also shooting for his next Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. That film is also being helmed by Prabhudheva, and co-stars Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda. Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai arrives in cinemas on Eid 2020.
