Deepika Padukone replaces Taapsee Pannu in Bhansali’s next?

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who recently started shooting for her next film Chhapaak with Meghna Gulzar, may join hands with acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali once again.

Both have previously worked together on such blockbusters as Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela (2013), Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018). Now the buzz has it that the duo is gearing up to do their fourth project together.

According to reports, Deepika has replaced Taapsee Pannu in Bhansali’s next film, which is a biopic on famed poet Sahir Ludhianvi. Yesterday, reports were doing the rounds that Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu could be playing the lead couple in the film.

However, as things stand today, Bachchan is confirmed to play Ludhianvi in the film, while Deepika Padukone may step into the role of poet Amrita Pritam, replacing Pannu. Though the actress is yet to sign the project on the dotted line, she is considering it very seriously.

If reports are to be believed, Padukone has put one condition before the makers that the biopic should be named after both poets, rather than just Ludhianvi. Bhansali is said to have agreed to that.

An official announcement is awaited.
