Disha Patani confirms headlining Ekta Kapoor's next

Last seen in Salman Khan's blockbuster film Bharat (2018), Disha Patani has now been signed on to topline a rib-tickling comic-caper. Well-known television and film producer Ekta Kapoor will bankroll the project under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. The forthcoming movie will mark the first collaboration between Disha Patani and Ekta Kapoor.

Disha, who is psyched up about teaming up with Ekta Kapoor for the first time in her career, has revealed the role that she will be essaying in the upcoming film.

“This film is a crackling comedy and I am excited. I will be essaying the role of a small-town Punjabi girl. I am super enthusiastic to begin my preparations and learn the language. To bring about the beauty and authenticity of my character, I need to make sure that I can bring out the Punjabi in me, not only through my appearance and gestures but also through my dialect,” the actress told a leading publication.

Patani has already started prepping for the film, and she hopes that she does complete justice to her character in it. “It is a super interesting character and a comical, quirky story. I am hoping that I’ll be able to do full justice to it. Being my first collaboration with Ekta ma’am, this project is all the more special to me and I am looking forward to the shoot,” said the actress in conclusion.

Disha Patani made her silver screen debut with Neeraj Pandey's M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). The actress won rave reviews for her brief performance in the film. Her next notable project was Baaghi 2 (2018), an action entertainer also featuring Tiger Shroff in the lead role. Her next is the first film were she is playing the central character. We hope she manages to garner maximum eyeballs for her act in the comic-caper.
