Extra Covid-19 precautions in place for Goa schedule of Vidyut Jammwal’s Sanak

Extra Covid-19 precautions in place for Goa schedule of Vidyut Jammwal’s Sanak

By: Mohnish Singh

While film and television shoots have come to a grinding halt in Mumbai in the wake of the unprecedented surge in coronavirus cases in the state of Maharashtra, a number of projects are currently in production in Goa where the caseload is under control. Having said that, producers are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of the entire cast and crew of their respective projects.

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who is set to begin the final schedule of his much-awaited action thriller film Sanak in Goa this month, has ensured extra measures on the sets of the film. Sanak stars Vidyut Jammwal, Chandan Roy Sanyal, and debutante Rukmini Maitra in lead roles and went before cameras in January 2021.

Talking about the precautionary measures the team has been adhering to for the final schedule of Sanak, director Kanishk Verma informs, “We only have the Goa schedule left. There is a sudden surge in the cases and the whole country is going through this. To be very honest, we have been very strict from the beginning as far as sanitisation and covid precautions on the set are concerned. We never took it lightly, even when we started the principal photography of the movie in January. I think we have been lucky enough to not have a single case for three months and back-to-back shooting because we were quite strict with safety measures and responsible. We made sure that everybody on set maintained the social distancing protocol. Only the people absolutely needed for the shot were there on the set. At any given point, we didn’t have more than 10-15 people on the shooting floor. Everyone was sent to the different rooms and corners and were called in when needed. Though this affected the shoot time everybody was very responsible and played their part well. Hence, we managed to finish the shoot in three months without any injury or covid cases. In fact, all equipment on set, cars and bikes of artists and crew members were also sanitised as soon as they arrived on set.”

Producer Vipul Shah adds, “We had a specialised sanitization team working on the set. There was a team of eight people whose primary job was to ensure that the entire shooting location and set up was properly sanitized, everybody goes through the sanitization tunnel every 15-20 minutes, everybody was given sanitiser to clean their hands, temperatures were checked regularly, surprise checks were also done. We had also created different colour bands, like green bands were given to the ones who can access the shooting area and red bands for those who cannot. Some extra unit bases were also created and sanitised, so the people can split into small units and that’s how we functioned.”

Scarlett Johansson slams SNL’s 'gross' vagina joke: ‘It was intense. I felt like I’d pass out!'

Scarlett Johansson has finally addressed the jaw-dropping joke about her that aired during Saturday Night Live’s holiday episode in December. Her husband, Colin Jost, was made to deliver the punchline live on air, and Johansson, watching from backstage, was left stunned. In a recent interview with InStyle, she described the moment as “so gross” and admitted she couldn’t believe the show went that far.

The joke was part of the show’s annual “Weekend Update” tradition, where Jost and his co-host Michael Che write outrageous jokes for each other to read without any prior warning. This time, Che handed Jost a line that compared Johansson to a Costco roast beef sandwich in a joke about their sex life. When Jost read it aloud, the audience gasped. Meanwhile, cameras backstage caught Johansson’s reaction mouth open, clearly shocked.

Amitabh Bachchan buys prime land near Ram Mandir in Ayodhya for father’s memorial

Amitabh Bachchan has purchased a second plot of land in Ayodhya, this time a large 54,454 square foot piece, located roughly 10 kilometres from the newly consecrated Ram Mandir. The land was bought through the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust, an organisation set up by the actor in 2013 to honour his late father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

This latest purchase adds to Bachchan’s earlier investment in Ayodhya. In January 2024, he bought land in a premium township called Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore. Reports suggest that property was meant for residential use. Now, sources indicate the newly acquired land could be developed into a memorial dedicated to his father’s life and literary legacy.

Stan Lee’s tragic final years: Shocking new documentary exposes elder abuse and exploitation

Stan Lee spent his life bringing superheroes to the world—Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, and so many more. But behind the joyful cameos and conventions, his last years were marked by serious exploitation. A new documentary, Stan Lee: The Final Chapter, talks about the dark, uncomfortable truth about what really happened.

The film is being put together by Jon Bolerjack, who worked closely with Lee during his final four years. Bolerjack wasn’t just an assistant; he was a witness to what many believe was the mishandling and manipulation of an ageing legend. According to Bolerjack, Lee was constantly pushed to sign memorabilia and make public appearances, despite his poor health. In video clips already shared, Lee appears exhausted while being shuffled between events.
