Fan Club Of The Week - Shivangi Joshi

By Asjad Nazir.

YOUNG actress Shivangi Joshi has made an amazing impact on television, including a winning turn on smash hit serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and gained herself a global

fan base. One of her ardent admirers, who is based in Rajasthan, India, runs a fan club dedicated to the small screen superstar. Eastern Eye caught up with the fan club to

find out more...

Why did you set up the fan club?

I first saw Shivangi in Beintehaa, where her role was not major, but the innocence her eyes held captivated me. So I looked her up online. I planned a fan club in 2014. My fan

club is called @TeamShivangiJ.

Tell us about your fan club?

Basically, in the initial phase when Shivangi did Beintehaa and Begusarai, we were trying to promote this fresh and talented face on the social platforms. And now we try to update about her activities, events, show related stuff etc.

What has been your most memorable moment?

There have been many, but two stand out. First, it was when Shivangi herself was the very first follower of the fan club, and second when I interviewed her in the DM section.

What is your favourite work Shivangi has done?

Whatever Shivangi does is great in itself, but as I started watching her as Aayat (Beintehaa), that has to be a special character. Besides that, Naira (Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai) is her most challenging role and she’s doing it effortlessly.

What is the best thing you like about Shivangi Joshi?

Shivangi is very grounded and very friendly in nature. And at the age of 20, achieving such heights with her hard work is so commendable and I’m proud of her everyday.

Tell us an interesting fact about Shivangi?

Shivangi is a trained kathak dancer and has been dancing since she was a kid.

What is your definition of a true fan?

A true fan is the one who stands by their favourite through every thick and thin of their life, and gets influenced by them and pushes themselves towards good.
