IN the UK, 14 per cent of the population are survivors of childhood abuse and as a result almost half (42 per cent) are living with depression in their adult life.
To support childhood abuse survivors, fashion brand ISAWITFIRST has teamed up with recovery charity, The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) to create a t-shirt range, with 100 per cent of profits going towards the fundamental work the charity does. Moreover, ISAWITFIRST will also provide an option for customers to donate £1 to the charity once they reach check out.
Gabrielle Shaw, chief executive of NAPAC commented: “I am thrilled that ISAWITFIRST are supporting NAPAC with such lovely products. These will help increase brand awareness for the charity and the essential work we carry out. The funds raised from the campaign will help towards NAPAC’s free national support services and resources for all adult survivors of abuse in childhood.”
“As a brand we’re always delighted to work alongside and support charities. It’s highly important to not only educate ourselves but our customers and to help raise awareness through our products. That’s why in support of NAPAC, we’ll be donating 100 per cent of profits from the t-shirt range to help this inspiring charity, as well as providing the option for all customers to donate an additional £1 at the point of check-out.
"Not only can our customers look good on the outside, but they can also feel good on the inside too, knowing they are supporting an amazing cause,” Leanne Holmes, brand director at ISAWITFIRST said.
As well as the t-shirts, ISAWITFIRST have been working closely with NAPAC on its new Survivor Booklet. This booklet is the first resource of its kind developed for younger survivors of child-on-child abuse.
