First poster of Amitabh Bachchan’s Marathi film AB Aani CD out

The first poster of megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s debut Marathi movie AB Aani CD is out now. The movie stars veteran film and theatre actor Vikram Gokhale in the lead role, while Bachchan will be seen in a special cameo playing himself.

Producer Akshay Bardapurkar had earlier said about both actors’ characters, “They both start their journey together. Bachchan sir and Gokhale sir are school friends and they meet almost after 70 years for a birthday party. AB stands for Amitabh Bachchan and CD for Gokhale’s character, who is called Chandrakant Deshpande.”

Talking about the length of the role that Amitabh Bachchan plays in AB Aani CD, Bardapurkar had added, “Bachchan sir is playing himself in the film. He will be seen as a megastar and the role is about 15-minutes-long.”

On the occasion of the Ganeshotsav, the first poster of the movie was presented to the Lalbaug Cha Raja. Producer Akshay Bardapurkar and director Milind Lele were present at this poster launch event of the film. Strikingly, the first poster of AB Aani CD features Vikram Gokhale in the same get-up which Big B had donned in one of his iconic songs ‘Saara Jamana’ from the film Yaarana (1981). The film is scheduled to hit theatres soon.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan has wrapped up the shooting of his forthcoming film Jhund. The film marks the directorial debut of well-known Marathi filmmaker Nagraj Manjule in Bollywood. Apart from Jhund, Big B will also be seen in a brief role in the much-awaited Telugu period drama Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy. The film releases on 2nd October.

The superstar also plays a pivotal role in Dharma Productions’ hugely anticipated fantasy adventure drama Brahmastra. Also starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy, the film is slated to release in 2020.
