After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Femina Miss India World 2018 Anukreethy Vas will star alongside talented actor Vijay Sethupathi in his next film, tentatively called VJS46. The makers on September 29 officially announced that Vas is onboard to play the female lead in the film, directed by Ponram.

Produced by Sun Pictures, the upcoming film is expected to be a rural masala entertainer filled with comedy, love, and action, set against the backdrop of Dindigul. If reports are to be believed, Sethupathi is set to play a cop in the film.

Welcoming Vas on the cast of the forthcoming film, the official handle of Sun Pictures tweeted, “Anukreethy Vas joins the cast of VJS46. Team VJS46 wishes her a very Happy Birthday!”

Earlier in March, the team had to cancel the shoot for one day after a fight broke out between the film crew and members of the press in Dindugal. Actor Vijay Sethupathi and crew members were seen in a heated argument with the press. Police officials intervened and pacified both parties.

Meanwhile, Anukreethy Vas is gearing up to make her acting debut with the much-awaited film Vettri, co-starring Mugen Rao. She also plays an important role in Zak Harris's film starring Narain, Anandhi, and Kathir.

Vijay Sethupathi, on the other hand, has a number of projects in different languages in the pipeline. His upcoming Tamil films include Maamanithan, Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, Mugizh, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, and Viduthalai, Vikram. He will make his Bollywood debut with Santosh Sivan’s Mumbaikar. The actor also plays a prominent role in Raj and DK’s upcoming streaming show with Shahid Kapoor.
