Has Sara Ali Khan dropped out of Love Aaj Kal 2?

Speculations are rife that filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is gearing up to direct a sequel to his 2008 blockbuster Love Aaj Kal.

Sara Ali Khan, who made her acting debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath (2018), and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) fame Kartik Aaryan were reported to be finalized to play the lead pair in the movie.

However, if fresh reports are to be believed, Sara Ali Khan has opted out of the project. Though no one exactly knows what led her to bid goodbye to Love Aaj Kal 2, some insiders reveal it happened due to issues with the script.

Sara Ali Khan’s father Saif Ali Khan, who played the male lead in the original film opposite Deepika Padukone, was also rumoured to be joining hands with Imtiaz Ali after more than a decade. But the actor later went on to deny the news.

With Sara backing out of Love Aaj Kal 2, it will be interesting to see who Imtiaz casts next.

Highlights

  • David Krumholtz said he has put his acting career on hold after feeling “frustrated, fed up, fried” with the profession.
  • The Supergirl actor said stepping away brought him a “huge wave of relief” after years of fearing he would go broke outside Hollywood.
  • Krumholtz stressed that he is not walking away from acting itself, but wants to find a more rewarding way to use his time and talents.

David Krumholtz has spent more than three decades building the kind of acting career many performers would envy. From The Santa Clause and Numb3rs to Superbad, Oppenheimer and Supergirl, the 48-year-old has remained a familiar face across film and television.

Now, the actor says he has had enough of the profession. In a social media post that he later deleted, Krumholtz revealed that he had sent what he described as a “definitive email” putting his acting career on hold. Rather than regret the decision, he said the move immediately lifted a burden he had been carrying for years.
