Healthy body and mind are a must for everyone, urges Nazim

Well-known TV star Mohammad Nazim, who shot to fame after playing the lead role in Rashmi Sharma Telefilms' Saath Nibhana Saathiya, celebrated his birthday on 1st January. On his birthday, the actor was in Chandigarh with his close friends.

"This year, I was in Chandigarh to usher in my birthday with my close buddies. Travelling is always fun when you have your closest buddies with you. Winter is always good in Punjab. Good food always goes well in winter. Though I could not cheat as am very particular with my fitness, I just had my birthday chocolate cake," says the actor.


Nazim also adds,"This year the birthday plan was spontaneous, but for next year I have planned already I will spend time with kids in an orphanage and senior citizens in an old age home. If I can contribute anyway to the society why not."

The actor is now going to his hometown Malerkotla where he will stay with his family for few days. "Yes, I will be in my hometown for few days. It is always good to have your family around you. And also, I will join the Desi Akhara there as I believe that is an ideal place for someone like me who considers fitness his first priority. I am happy and excited that I will be joining the Akhara soon."

Nazim is famous for his obsession with fitness. He adds, "Fitness is a way of life for me. I will go to any extent to accommodate fitness in my routine. I want everyone to take fitness seriously be it an actor or a non-actor. Healthy body and mind are a must for everyone. I even want to open a gym in my hometown one day".

The actor is gearing up for his next show where he will be playing the role of a wrestler. The show is being produced by Salman Khan.

Planning overhaul targets 1.5 million new homes

BRITAIN on Thursday (12) outlined details of an overhaul to its planning system to help boost growth and hit a target of 1.5 million new homes in the next five years, including ordering local authorities to build more houses.

Northern Ireland approves extension of post-Brexit trade rules

NORTHERN Ireland’s devolved government has voted to continue implementing post-Brexit trading arrangements under the Windsor Framework, a deal signed between London and the European Union in February 2023.

The vote in the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont extended the arrangement for four years.

'Covid bereavement rates in Scotland highest among Asians'

THE bereavement rates due to Covid in Scotland have been highest among those identifying with ‘Any other’ ethnic group (68 per cent), followed by Indians (44 per cent) and Pakistanis (38 per cent), a new study revealed. This is significantly higher than the national average of around 25 per cent.

Ethnic groups were found to be two-and-a-half times more likely to have experienced the loss of a close family member during the Covid crisis.

Trump nominates Harmeet Dhillon for top Department of Justice role

US PRESIDENT-ELECT Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American attorney Harmeet K Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice.

“I am pleased to nominate Harmeet K Dhillon as assistant attorney general for civil rights at the US Department of Justice,” Trump announced on Monday on Truth Social, his social media platform.
