Here’s what Prabhudeva has to say about a sequel to Salman Khan’s Wanted

Today, Salman Khan is regarded as one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood whose mere presence in a film ensures a colossal opening at the box-office. But things were not the same for the actor some 10 years ago. Almost a decade ago, Salman Khan delivered back-to-back flops which dented his reputation of being a bankable star.

Around the same time, Khan happened to headline choreographer-turned-filmmaker Prabhudeva’s Bollywood directorial debut Wanted (2009). Produced by Boney Kapoor, Wanted was the official remake of blockbuster Telugu action entertainer Pokiri (2007), which was directed by Prabhudeva only.

Wanted, also starring Ayesha Takia, emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2009 and changed Salman Khan’s career forever. The film is said to have revived the actor’s sinking career and paved the way for the superstardom that he enjoys today.

Rumours have been rife of late that Prabhudeva and Salman Khan are planning a sequel to the successful film. However, when Prabhudeva was asked about the same, here is what he had to say, “There are no plans for Wanted 2 for now, but you never know what the future holds for you. For now, I am working with Salman again in Dabangg 3 and that’s a great opportunity for me.”

Dabangg 3 marks the second collaboration between the choreographer-turned-filmmaker and Khan. The movie is the third instalment of the successful Hindi film franchise Dabangg. Also starring Sonakshi Sinha, the film is produced by Arbaaz Khan. Dabangg 3 is slated to buzz into theatres on 20th December, 2019.
