Hollywood honours Shashi Kapoor & Sridevi at Oscars 2018

Late legendary actors Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi were remembered at the 90th Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles last night.

The ‘In Memoriam’ segment at the Oscars pays tribute to great film artists who died in the last one year.


Kapoor died last December after prolonged illness, while Sridevi breathed her last on 24th February after accidental drowning in a Dubai hotel. Aged 54, the actress is hailed as the first female superstar of Indian cinema who proved her terrific acting mettle by featuring in over 300 films across various popular Indian languages.

Their names were mentioned amongst many other prominent film personalities who left us recently, including John Heard, Tony Anne Walker, Roger Moore, Jane Foray, Robert Osborne, Martin Landau, Glenne Headly, George A. Romero and Jerry Lewis.
