Hrithik Roshan approached for a spy thriller

Speculations are rife in the tinsel town of Bollywood that superstar Hrithik Roshan, who is presently riding high on the massive success of War (2019), has been approached to headline a spy thriller set in the 1980s. The film will be produced by Nikkhil Advani under his production house Emmay Entertainment. Lucknow Central (2017) fame Ranjit Tiwari will helm it. Earlier, Shahid Kapoor was in talks for the same movie. However, the makers chose not to sign him when he demanded an exorbitant remuneration.

"Nikkhil has approached Hrithik Roshan for the same film. It is set in a particular time period - during the '80s and will be on the lines of a spy thriller. After Shahid opted out, Nikkhil took his film to Duggu who has not played a character from the '80s before. So, it seemed like a novel idea for him,” a source in the know reveals.

However, Hrithik Roshan is yet to take the final call. He may make up his mind after the announcement of his next with filmmaker Farah Khan. "He has given his nod to Farah Khan's Satte Pe Satta (1982) remake. But he has also declined Aanand Rai's film opposite Sara Ali Khan. Papa Rakesh Roshan is now stable and is currently working on Krrish 4. He has been flooded with several other offers and Nikkhil's thriller is one of the many. He will decide on which one he wants to sign, after he announces his next with Farah. After War's stupendous success, even Hrithik wants to do more commercial films that will get him the numbers,” the source goes on add.

Almost everyone is waiting for the official announcement of Hrithik Roshan’s next with Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty. Rumours are rife that Anushka Sharma will be romancing the superstar in the remake of Satte Pe Satta.
