Hrithik Roshan in consideration for The Burning Train remake?

According to the latest media reports, Hrithik Roshan might star in the official remake of filmmaker Ravi Chopra’s 1980 film The Burning Train. Producer Juno Chopra, who is the son of Ravi Chopra, is co-producing the remake in association with Pooja Entertainment’s Jackky Bhagnani.

The project was announced last month, which evoked a lot of excitement among the audience. The latest update on the much-anticipated remake is that superstar Hrithik Roshan is being considered to front the cast.

“Juno and Jackky have decided to approach Hrithik Roshan for the remake. They are keen to have him on board as they feel that he will take this film to another level. The film’s planning was in full progress but due to the Corona pandemic, the project is now on a standstill. As soon as the lockdown is removed, the producers will have a meeting with Hrithik Roshan,” a source informs an entertainment magazine.

The original film boasted of an ensemble star cast, which included Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Jeetendra and Neetu Singh, among others. It will be really interesting to see if the makers manage to sign some of the leading actors from the current generation and pull a casting coup of sorts.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan has not given his nod to any project after the release of Yash Raj Films’ War (2019). Also starring Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor in pivotal roles, the action entertainer was the highest grossing film of the year gone by, earning over ₹300 crore at the domestic box-office. It remains to be seen if Junior Roshan greenlights the remake of The Burning Train or not.
