Hrithik Roshan on his process of selecting roles

After delivering two back-to-back hits in 2019, Hrithik Roshan is back in the reckoning and how! His performances in Super 30 and War garnered massive appreciation and adulation from both classes and masses. Both films featured him in completely different avatars and the actor nailed both the characters with aplomb, proving his versatility yet again.

Hrithik Roshan has always chosen characters which are different and challenging. He recently spoke about how he chooses his roles. Talking to a popular publication, the superstar said, “I look for intelligence. The general approach is important. The story cannot be just about bravado but also about a flawed character. There has to be a contrast because usually, action films are all about the hero being pitted against the villain and that’s not enough. I don’t mind doing an ensemble or a two-hero film, but it needs to be intelligently written. Blowing up cars and fist-fights are not action for me. It should emanate from the protagonist’s attitude."

On achieving unimaginable success in Hindi cinema, he said that stardom is a huge responsibility, “I have realized that stardom is a huge responsibility that requires a lot of skills to bear, otherwise it becomes a burden. I feel I have gotten better at handling it with every year but it’s not easy.”

On the work front, Hrithik Roshan has not signed any new film after the release of Yash Raj Films' War. According to reports, he might collaborate with father Rakesh Roshan to roll out the fourth instalment of the super successful superhero franchise Krrish. The project is currently at the scripting stage.
