Hrithik Roshan to headline Farah Khan’s remake of Satte Pe Satta

On 7th February, Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty announced that they have teamed up for a film and since then, fans have been curious to know which film both are working on. In the past few weeks, speculations are rampant that the duo is set to remake the Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini-starrer Satte Pe Satta (1982).

While Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty are still tight-lipped about the project and its casting, we have read several reports about many actors being approached for the film. From Shah Rukh Khan to Akshay Kumar, several names have cropped up for the role which was originally played by Amitabh Bachchan.

The latest rumour on the casting of the movie is that neither Shah Rukh Khan nor Akshay Kumar is in the race. The remake has landed into superstar Hrithik Roshan’s lap. A leading entertainment portal reports that the Kaabil (2017) actor is most likely to step in senior Bachchan’s shoes for the role.

“Farah has already discussed the idea with Hrithik Roshan, who has also given a verbal nod to the project. Farah has reworked the whole script and designed it to suit contemporary times. They needed a superstar who would command the same screen presence as Big B and Duggu was their first choice. Farah and Hrithik have been friends for decades now, so he immediately heard the story and okayed it. The final modalities will be worked out soon and the actor will also make an announcement right after that,” a source close to the development reveals to the portal.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan is presently busy promoting his much-awaited film, Super 30. The trailer of the movie was unveiled a couple of days ago and it has garnered positive response from the majority of the audience. Directed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 is a biography based on the life of award-winning mathematician, Anand Kumar.

Produced by Phantom Films, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment, the film is set to enter theatres on 12th July.
