Hrithik Roshan to play both the protagonist and antagonist in Krrish 4?

Hrithik Roshan, who delivered two blockbusters in 2019 – Super 30 and War – is expected to start shooting for his much-delayed film Krrish 4 in the second half of 2020. And if fresh reports are to be believed, the superstar could be seen playing both the protagonist as well as the antagonist in the fourth instalment of the superhit franchise.

According to the latest reports, Junior Roshan has expressed his desire to play both the roles in the sci-fi film and a source has shared if the script is right, audiences could get a double dose of the superstar in the much-awaited superhero outing.

“For Hrithik’s superhero character to be effective, there must be a powerful antagonist who can stand opposite the protagonist. Hrithik has always been fascinated by the villain in superhero films. He has expressed his desire to his father Rakesh Roshan to play both Krrish and his adversary in Krrish 4, and the idea is being developed. It now depends entirely on how the screenplay shapes up. Rakesh will only go ahead with Hrithik in both the main roles if he likes the idea,” the source divulges.

In the previous instalments of the franchise, Naseeruddin Shah, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut were seen as antagonists.

Krrish 4 is currently at the scripting stage. There is no official word as to when the shooting of the film will commence. However, if industry insiders are to be believed, Rakesh Roshan is planning to begin production in the second half of the year.

When Krrish 4 was announced in 2018, it was set to release in December 2020. But since the project is yet to take off, fans will have to wait for another one or two years before the film arrives in cinemas to entertain them.
