Imtiaz Ali & Varun Dhawan to come together for a romantic film

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who was about to start his next film with Shahid Kapoor, is now teaming up with Varun Dhawan for a new project.

Reportedly, the movie which he was planning with Kapoor has been put on the backburner as its financers stepped back due to it being an extremely experimental film. Since the collaboration with Shahid seems nowhere close in sight, Ali has shifted his attention to a romantic subject for which he has already initiated talks with Varun Dhawan. Some reports even suggest that the director has met Varun twice this month and the actor is almost onboard.

Varun Dhawan, who has delivered one successful film after another ever since entering Bollywood, is currently busy with the promotional activities of his next release, October. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film features debutante Banita Sandhu as the female lead and enters cinemas on 13th April.

If reports about Dhawan joining forces with Imtiaz Ali are true, his fans will be really happy as the actor has never done an out-and-out romantic film in his career so far.

An official announcement is awaited though.

Chetan Bhagat says fame in Bollywood can take a serious toll on mental health. The bestselling author, whose novels like 3 Idiots and Kai Po Che! became major films, explained that many actors and directors struggle when their work doesn’t succeed. “There are actors who, when going to a restaurant, if they aren’t recognised, don’t enjoy the meal. They wonder, ‘No one came to click photos?’ Can you imagine what a sick life that is?” he said.

Bhagat added that the pressure of attention and constant public scrutiny can worsen insecurity. He recalled seeing stars fade over time, their mental health affected by the highs and lows of fame.
