Irrfan Khan to resume work by headlining Hindi Medium sequel

If reports are to be believed, versatile actor Irrfan Khan, who is currently undergoing treatment for a Neuroendocrine tumour in London, has given his nod to star in a sequel to his well-received film Hindi Medium (2017).

Reportedly, the makers of Hindi Medium flew down to London to meet the actor. After knowing his well-being, they narrated the film’s script to him. The actor, reportedly, liked the script and agreed to headline the second instalment of the movie.

As per reports, the story of Hindi Medium 2 will fast-forward to ten years. It will basically revolve around Irrfan Khan’s character and his grown-up daughter Pia. After getting a confirmation from Khan, the makers are now expected to begin their hunt for the actress who could play Pia.

Hindi Medium 2 will be produced by Dinesh Vijan under his home banner, Maddock Films. While the first part was helmed by Saket Chaudhary, its sequel will be directed by a new filmmaker. A couple of months ago, there were reports that Homi Adjania might direct Hindi Medium sequel. However, the makers are yet to confirm the director’s name.
