Is Ishaan Khatter stepping into brother Shahid Kapoor's shoes for Ishq Vishk sequel?

After the humongous success of his latest release Kabir Singh (2019), Shahid Kapoor has cemented his position as a bankable star in the Hindi film industry. As we all know that Kapoor made his silver screen debut sixteen years ago with Tips Films’ college romance drama, Ishq Vishk (2003). After Ishq Vishk, Kabir Singh has emerged as his biggest hit as a solo hero.

While Shahid Kapoor is currently riding high on the great success of Kabir Singh all across India, we hear that his younger brother Ishaan Khatter is planning to get into his shoes. How? Well, according to reports, Ishaan might play the male lead in the much-awaited sequel to big brother’s debut film Ishq Vishk.

"The makers are currently working on the script for the movie. Ishq Vishk was very young in nature, and hence, nobody better than Ishaan Khatter, who exhibits the required charm and innocence for the role," a source close to the development reveals to an entertainment portal, adding, "Apparently, the idea has been discussed with Ishaan but that's it.”

Various media outlets report that things are at a very initial stage right now and nothing has been locked officially as yet. Earlier, producer Ramesh Taurani revealed his plans about the sequel to the 2003 movie, which also featured Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasury in important roles. "Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in the scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance or a college romance," he had said.

Ishaan Khatter, who made his acting debut with the Majid Majidi-directed Beyond The Clouds in 2017, was last seen in Dharma Productions’ Dhadak (2018). After the release of Dhadak, his name has been linked to many projects, but the actor never accepted anything officially. We hope reports about him being in talks for Ishq Vishk 2 turns out to be true.
