Jacqueline Fernandez roped in for Kirik Party remake

After finalizing Kartik Aaryan, the makers of an upcoming Hindi film have now roped in actress Jacqueline Fernandez for the female lead. The film is an official remake of highly successful Kannada movie, Kirik Party (2016).

This is the same project for which the makers had initially thought of casting Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez together. But since their last film A Gentleman (2016) was a box-office dud, the makers opted for only Jacqueline from the duo.

“The makers were keen on casting Jacqueline Fernandez and Sidharth Malhotra together, but their history, the failure of A Gentlemen, made them doubtful. But with Kartik replacing Sid, it has made it easy for them to bring Jacqueline on board,” a source reveals.

The Kirik Party remake will be a two-heroine project. After locking Jacqueline Fernandez, the makers are now looking for an actress who could play the second female lead in the movie.

To be directed by Abhishek Jain, the Kartik Aaryan and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer will be produced by Ajay Kapoor, Dheeraj Wadhawan and Vrithika Laykar. The film is expected to start rolling in the next couple of months.
