John Abraham ready for ‘mission of a lifetime’ in ‘Pathaan’ first look

After the success of “Ek Villain Returns”, Bollywood star John Abraham is once again armed and dangerous as the antagonist of the upcoming action film “Pathaan”.

The movie is headlined by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who returns to the big screen after a gap of five years. Directed by Siddharth Anand of “War” fame, “Pathaan” also stars Deepika Padukone.

Abraham shared his first look from the film in a Twitter post on Thursday.

“The mission of a lifetime is about to start. Celebrate #Pathaan with #YRF50 only at a big screen near you on 25th January, 2023. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu,” he wrote.

The hero is only as good as the villain, said Anand.

“John Abraham is the antagonist, the villain of ‘Pathaan’. And I have always believed in the fact that the villain’s projection should be as big, if not bigger than that of the hero’s.

“Only when the villain is massive, can the tussle between them be spectacular. And we have an extraordinary battle when SRK takes on John! We wanted to present John in a super slick avatar,” the director said in a statement.

The release of Abraham’s first glimpse as the villain comes a month after the makers unveiled Padukone’s look.

Anand, also known for “Bang Bang!”, “Bachna Ae Haseeno”, and “Salaam Namaste”, said the audience has only seen the tip of the iceberg with the posters of the “Pathaan” star cast.

“Every announcement of ‘Pathaan’ is like revealing a piece of an epic puzzle, in front of the curious eyes of the fans and audiences, leading right up to our release day. “We aspire for every asset of ‘Pathaan’ to be a big talking point mainly because, we, fortunately, have the content to create that buzz… I can assure you that nothing can prepare you for the action spectacle that is coming your way,” he added.

A Yash Raj Films production, the movie is slated to hit the screens on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

John Abraham reacts to Middle East ban on 'The Diplomat': “We never pointed fingers at Pakistan”

John Abraham’s latest political drama, The Diplomat, has quietly become a sleeper hit back home but the film has run into unexpected trouble overseas. It has been banned in several Middle Eastern countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. There’s been no official explanation, but the decision has left the actor surprised and disappointed.

In an interview, John addressed the backlash. “We’ve shown Pakistani characters—lawyers, judges, even cops—as upright and principled. This is not a film made to insult any country. If anything, we were careful to show a fair picture,” he said. The actor added that the film avoids nationalist chest-thumping, something he was clear about from the start.

Monica Lewinsky flips Clinton scandal into power move with podcast & red carpet comeback

Nearly three decades after she became a household name for reasons beyond her control, Monica Lewinsky is showing the world a very different side of herself, one that has nothing to do with scandal and everything to do with reinvention.

On April 3, she attended the opening night of Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway, a production backed by George Clooney. The red carpet was packed with A-list names like Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman, Hugh Jackman, Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber, but it was Lewinsky who caught attention in a strapless black gown with ruffled edges and a quiet confidence that signalled how far she’s come.

Karan Johar’s drastic weight loss sparks Ozempic rumours after a viral mirror selfie shocks fans

Karan Johar’s latest mirror selfie has stirred up more conversation than any of his film announcements this year, and not for reasons he might have expected. A picture he shared on Instagram, showing off a significantly slimmer frame, has sparked a wave of concern among fans and followers. The photo, now deleted, featured him in a coordinated outfit, black hat, and oversized sunglasses, his usual style intact, but his thinner look raising eyebrows.

The reaction was swift, especially on Reddit, where users reposted the photo and launched into debates. Some worried he looked unwell. Others were quick to dismiss the concern, noting that someone with Karan’s access to top-tier doctors, trainers, and lifestyle amenities likely had it all under control. But not everyone was convinced.

Madonna says 'forgive me' as she ends 20-year feud with Elton John

After years of trading public jabs, Madonna and Elton John have quietly made peace. What began as a bitter rivalry has now turned into a moment of mutual respect and possibly, collaboration.

Their fallout dates back over two decades, sparked by Elton John’s harsh criticism of Madonna’s performances. From mocking her Bond theme in 2002 to accusing her of lip-syncing and calling her names at public events, Elton didn’t hold back. At the 2004 Q Awards, he famously questioned her place in the Best Live Act category, saying anyone who lip-syncs “should be shot.”
