Juhi Chawla cannot wait to resume shooting for her next Sharmaji Namkeen

Juhi Chawla, who was last seen in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019), is currently at home, enjoying her free time amid the Coronavirus lockdown. The seasoned actress hopes that things return to normalcy soon and she faces the camera again.

For the uninitiated, Juhi Chawla next stars in a film called Sharmaji Namkeen. The project is yet to be officially announced, but the majority of its shooting has completed. It will reunite Juhi with actor Rishi Kapoor, with whom she has done several films in the 90s.

Though the actress chooses to remain mum on the plotline of the film, she reveals that a renowned female filmmaker has directed it. The actress adds that the fate of Sharmaji Namkeen depends on when the pandemic ends.

“A little bit of shooting still remains. The film is to complete its post-production work as well,” informs Chawla.

The actress goes on to reveal that a South Indian filmmaker had approached her last year, but she could not do the film because of date issues. “Earlier last year, a South director named Ajayan, residing in New York, had approached me for a film. The story of this film is very metro-driven, but owing to my date issues, I had backed out of that project. But yes, now since things seem to be going at its pace, I think I can take that conversation ahead,” she says in conclusion.

Apart from Sharmaji Namkeen, Juhi Chawla will also be seen in an upcoming webseries. The details of the web-show are currently under wraps.

Salman Khan slammed by Muslim cleric for wearing £32,000 Ayodhya Ram temple watch, calls it 'haram'

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has found himself at the centre of a religious controversy after wearing a limited edition watch featuring the Ram Janmabhoomi temple design. The accessory, which was noticed during the promotions of his upcoming film Sikandar, has drawn criticism from Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, president of the All India Muslim Jamaat.

Maulana Razvi has expressed strong disapproval, stating that as a Muslim, Salman Khan should avoid symbols associated with other religions. He referred to the act as “haram” (forbidden) under Islamic law and urged the actor to be mindful of his influence, especially given his large Muslim fan following.
