Kangana Ranaut immerses herself in Thalaivi and Dhaakad preparations

After delivering two successful movies – Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Judgementall Hai Kya – in 2019, Kangana Ranaut is making sure that the slate of her upcoming films for the year 2020 also looks thoroughly impressive.

The three-time National Award-winning actress will kick-start 2020 with the release of her much-awaited film Panga. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Panga is a sports movie, starring Kangana Ranaut in the role of a Kabaddi player. Also featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Richa Chadha and Jassie Gill in important roles, the film is slated to release on Republic Day 2020.

Her next releases will be Thalaivi and Dhaakad. The actress has started preparing for both the films. She has flown off to Los Angeles with the team of Thalaivi, where she will be undergoing various look tests with Hollywood expert Jason Collins. Jason boasts of an impressive body of work. He has worked on blockbuster Hollywood movies like Captain Marvel (2019) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017).

“I am very curious about this process, I don’t know how it will impact my expressions and approach to my character, but this is going to be a one of its kind experience for me,” says Kangana Ranaut.

Based on the life of actor and politician Jayalalithaa, Thalaivi is a multi-lingual film. Set to begin production post-Diwali, the biopic will be first shot near Mysore followed by other locations. To be directed by AL Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh, Thalaivi is expected to be shot on a huge scale.

Coming to Dhaakad, the film is an out-and-out action entertainer. The film will be directed by debutant filmmaker Razneesh Ghai. It will be jointly produced by Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films and co-produced by Qyuki Digital Media. The movie is set to hit screens on Diwali 2020.
