Kartik Aaryan in talks with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment for a romcom

By: Mohnish Singh

Shah Rukh Khan may have not starred in any film after the debacle of his ambitious romantic-comedy-drama Zero (2018), but he has been quite busy on the production front over the past two years, bankrolling one project after the other under his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. While the superstar is yet to announce his next acting project, he has greenlighted several projects as a producer.

According to reports, one of his forthcoming production ventures is likely to have Kartik Aaryan as the male lead. Yes, Red Chillies Entertainment is reportedly in talks with the rising Bollywood star for a romantic-comedy film expected to go before cameras in 2021.

Though nothing much is known about the upcoming project now, we hear that filmmaker Ajay Bahl, who has previously helmed such notable critically and commercially successful films as BA Pass (2012) and Section 375 (2019), has come on board to call the shots. The reports further state that Aaryan has shown interest in the project, however, is figuring out his dates before signing it on the dotted line.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan has his plate filled with several high-profile projects which are currently at various stages of development. Reportedly, he will start shooting for Ram Madhvani’s next directorial offering from December. The Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) actor, who was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal (2020), will then resume shooting for the pending portions of Anees Bazmee's much-awaited horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Lucknow. It will be followed by the shoot of Dharma Productions’ Dostana 2. If things fall into place, Aaryan will start shooting for Shah Rukh Khan’s film only after completing his prior commitments.
