Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s love letter to Sridevi’s fans has irked popular television actress Kavita Kaushik who replied strongly by tweeting:

Bohot galat kar rahe hain aap! she is not here to defend herself or shut you up from revealing details of her personal life which you admit she guarded more than her life ! Why will you open the pages of her life’s book for everyone to read? She did not want this!! Don’t do this! https://t.co/nem1VX5yiH

Varma spilled secrets about Sridevi’s personal life in the letter. He wrote, "Her mother became mentally unwell after a brain surgery went wrong in the USA. Before dying, she put all the property in Sridevi's name. However, her sister, Srilatha slapped a case on Sridevi saying that her mother was insane and not in her senses when she wrote the will."

He also wrote about how Boney Kapoor's mother was unhappy with Sridevi's marriage to Boney Kapoor. In the letter, he writes, "Boney's mother punching her in the stomach in a five-star hotel lobby for what she did to Boney's first wife Mona."

Adding further, he stated, "She always came across as a little uptight but that's because she built a psychological wall around her as she was scared of anybody to really see what's going on within her. She was panicky about anybody knowing what her insecurities were."

Earlier, too the filmmaker had spoken about Sridevi in his book Guns and Thighs wherein he has written an entire chapter about the diva.
